Montana Wilderness Association and Thirsty Lake Solar Partnership
Thirsty Lake Solar has teamed up with The Montana Wilderness Association to offer MWA members a 3.5% discount on the cost of installing a PV system on their home or business while donating a further 3.5% of system cost to the MWA! This savings combined with Federal and State income tax credits and the low cost of solar modules makes it a great time for an MWA member to invest in PV. It is a WIN, WIN, WIN, WIN partnership. You as an MWA member win, the MWA wins, Thirsty Lake Solar wins, and our wild places win with a little bit of breathing room from climate change and energy development.

Sandy Kempa Great Falls Solar!
NorthWestern Energy installed the net meter today and the PV system started soaking in the sun power immediately. Money well spent.
Thanks for your great work--Adam too! I was excited to bring Jeff to my house for an estimate, then a fast and highly professional installation. Jeff and Adam are a great team; who know what they are doing, and are dedicated to renewable energy, as I am. I applaud Thirsty Lake Solar for offering a discount to Montana Wilderness Association members, and donating that amount to MWA. I would highly recommend Thirsty Lake Solar to anyone, interested in joining those who really care about our planet. And, their website is fantastic! Sandy Kempa, Great Falls. |
Deva McNight Loves her Solar!
Having Thirty Lake Solar install my solar system is the best decision I have made, my only regret is that I did not do it sooner. My reasons are;
(1) I feel that I have decrease my carbon footprint. Solar power is one of the most important solutions to global warming crisis. Global warming threatens the survival of human society as well as the survival of countless species. (2) Savings on electricity bill. Solar is an investment that pays each passing year. |
(3) I have read that Solar power creates jobs, money invested in solar power creates two to three more jobs then money invested in coal or natural gas. Deva McNight, Augusta.

Rick Kerr Sowing Solar!
Jeff is an awesome professional to deal with. I give him and Thirsty Lake Solar a 6-Star rating, as a 5-Star rating is just not enough to cover his superb service! From calculating your solar energy potential to cleaning up after installation, every phase of the project was done with caring diligence. Jeff is very personable, knowledgeable, competent, precise, efficient, trustworthy, and prompt. Did I forget something? Oh ya, he is also very passionate about working for the betterment of our planet. So much so, that Jeff offers a 3.5% discount to Montana Wilderness Association members going solar and donates another 3.5% discount to MWA.

Jeff knows that the extreme weather fluxuations of a warming planet will challenge the integrity of our ecosystems. Wilderness and its pristine ecosystems will provide the best defense for maintaining species diversity into the future.
The same sun that unveils and reveals pristine streams, meadows, lakes, valleys, grasslands and mountains, can also provide us carbon free energy protecting the planet for future generations to admire. Extended federal tax credits of 30% make going solar affordable for most middle class homeowners.
One rooftop at a time, Thirsty Lake Solar is supporting the will of individual citizens to take measurable actions to reduce our collective carbon footprint. Thank you, Jeff!
P.S. Every rooftop solar system installed, plants a seed of curiosity and possibility for neighbors to ponder. Get WILD in 2016 and plant a seed in your neighborhood!" Rick Kerr, Choteau.
MWA Chapter President goes solar!
"Jeff Wongstrom of Thirsty Lake Solar installed a grid-tied(no batteries) photovoltaic system on our unused roof space. In the two day process we got to know an efficient, trustworthy, and knowledgeable friend. It was a simple yet dramatic action we personally could take to generate clean energy and reduce our monthly electric bill. More importantly, we are supporting a clean energy future for Montana by decreasing demand for large scale energy generation and distribution projects and infrastructure on public lands and in sensitive places.
In partnership with Thirsty Lake Solar, Montana Wilderness Association members can receive a 3.5% discount with and an additional 3.5% of the cost of their solar system going to MWA programs. The partnership between TLS and MWA encourages the transition to clean energy and reduces conflict and stress on Montana's wild places. It's obvious that the time to wean ourselves from fossil fuels and to decentralize energy production is NOW. The 21st century must see a shift from fossil fuels to renewable energy. Thank you Thirsty Lake Solar and the Montana Wilderness Association for your part in this crucial transition." Terry and Katy Meyers- Kalispell, MT

Choteau Wildernuts Go Solar!
“We’re proud that Jeff Wongstrom installed one of the first PV systems in Choteau at our home. As strong wilderness proponents we know that we cannot save our wild lands without reducing our carbon footprint. Going solar to meet our electrical needs will go a long way toward meeting this commitment. We were most impressed by Jeff’s knowledge, efficiency and professionalism. He is a natural teacher who patiently explained what he was doing and why. Jeff and his assistant Matt installed our system quickly, efficiently, and, most important, correctly.

As icing on the cake Jeff has made a significant contribution to the Montana Wilderness Association on our behalf thereby amplifying the positive environmental impact of getting our electricity from the sun. We strongly recommend Thirsty Lake Solar.” Bill and Polly Cunningham.
Bozeman MWA member Dean Littlepage goes solar!
"I like to think that my new home PV system helps, at least in a small way, to preserve wild places. The more renewable energy we generate, the less pressure there is to drill and dig fossil fuels in places like the Badger-Two Medicine and the Eastern Montana roadless areas. Plus, every new roof with solar cells bumps up the chance we have of saving the wild places we love from catastrophic climate change." Dean Littlepage, Bozeman. |
Barhaughs on top of solar!
"Our experience with Thirsty Lake Solar was a completely positive one from start to finish. The two elements that have been most valuable to us are the onsite visit to bid the project rather than a google earth analysis and Jeff's continued communication with us even after the project was complete. If we have any question Jeff is great about getting back to us. We highly recommend Thirsty Lake Solar." Lee Barhaugh, Choteau.

Yve, Ian, and Sampson go solar!
Ian and Yve Bardwell, MWA members and co-owners of Dropstone Outfitting, took advantage of the opportunity presented by the partnership, adding solar panels to their Choteau home at a discount. Not only do they now get energy from the sun instead of our public lands, but they generated a $600 donation from Thirsty Lake Solar to the MWA to support wilderness work, a win-win for conservation.
As Yve says, “We live in the perfect place to take advantage of solar and it's something we've talked about for some time. We believe it's important to try to take these kind of steps towards clean energy. It's functional idealism.” |
